Liner notes:

Ferrante & Teicher: Love In A Generation Gap (inner)Generation Gap — Definition: the lack of communication between anyone under twenty-five and anyone over thirty.

How to Bridge it — Answer: use a common denominator, love and music.

This may seem to be a very simple answer to a very complicated problem but the way Ferrante and Teicher give musical expression to the most beautiful of all emotions, it just may work.

What the incomparable keyboard duo has done, in this their latest album, is taken some of the most beloved old love songs and mixed them with love songs of the “now generation.” The lilting OUR LOVE IS HERE TO STAY — the seductive THE LOOK OF LOVE — the wistful I WISH I WERE IN LOVE AGAIN, the easy, almost casual THIS GUY’S IN LOVE WITH YOU, the most current of all the selections TO WAIT FOR LOVE plus 8 other now and then hits have two things in common, the unmistakable message of love and the unmistakable talent of Ferrante and Teicher. As one listens to F&T work their magic, it becomes apparent that although times may change, feeling and response remain constant.

Ferrante and Teicher, themselves have bridged the generation gap. Since their first smash hit, THE THEME FROM THE APARTMENT, in 1960, they have been recognized as far and away the finest piano duo in the business. Their distinctive complementary style is most evident in moving renditions, such as EXODUS, a million seller.

So, listen to Ferrante and Teicher work their musical magic once more and you will suddenly realize that the sound of love today and the sound of love in days gone by have the same effect on the heart. And — while you listen — you may become aware of the fact that the generation gap is not as big as we think it is after all.

Doug's comments:

This album was released with Unipak packaging, a lightweight gatefold-like cover where the record is removed from the left side of the jacket (through the center opening) rather than the right. Typically, the glue would eventually come undone or the record would wear through the spine. Fortunately, Unipak was short-lived. I don't know if the Lp ever appeared in a standard sleeve.
