| I
am proud to say I am still earning money
playing F&T stylings at various gigs. My
father, also a professional pianist, took me
to a concert in Mobile, where I got an album
autographed. It's sad to know that today's
society has no idea what they are missing by
not hearing the incredible arrangements
F&T played. |

| In
the earlier 1960's I worked at Clowes
Memorial Hall at Butler University in
Indianapolis, Indiana. When Ferrante and
Teicher came to play at Butler, I would go
pick them up at their hotel and bring them
to Clowes Hall and sometimes take them back.
Even tho I was in my teens at that time, I
really, really enjoyed their music!!!! They
signed a couple of their albums that I own.
I will never forget them!!!! |

| In
1965, my girlfriend who was a very good
pianist herself and I sneaked into the
projection booth at Orange Coast College as
the twin pianos arrived and were set up on
stage. F&T were going to play a concert
that night and I guess they wanted a little
practice first. The drama class was
cancelled and we were told that NOBODY was
allowed in the theater - so we had to sneak
in. We must have made a small noise as they
were playing as they both stopped and looked
directly at the projection booth - we froze!
After what seemed like 20 minutes - but was
prolly really 15 seconds or so - they
recommenced to play a concert for us with
all the flourish and fervor as they later
that night did. Diette, if you see this
posting - remember please that I really had
a monster crush on you - but that concert in
the OCC theater was just for US! I believe
it's so anyway. F&T were a very distinct
part of my high school and college years.
Thank you both for great music and all the
fond memories. |

| The
memories that I have for these fine artist
flood my soul when I hear their music. I
grew up poor and listened to a crystal radio
in my room each night. WGH AM radio station
would often play some of my F&T
favorites. Later in life I saw them at
CHRYSLER HALL Norfolk Va. and what a show it
was. A few years ago I wrote the manager and
told him of my memories, F&T sent me
their picture. As my 60s pass as well as my
life ....I just might meet them...what a
thought! Warm regards to family, Thomas |

| I
have been a fan since the early 60s. I do
play, and I learned to play Exodus through
listening to the L.P. I am very pleased to
find this sight. I'm sixty five, disabled,
and still play whenever I can. I love and am
excited to watch the videos. This brought
back to me a style of playing that I always
admired and almost forgot, which I now am
happily feeling as I play. Thank You for
doing such a good job with this site. Of
course if more videos were available to see,
that would be wonderful. I again feel what I
play. What Ferrante and Teicher did with the
Twin Baldwins will never be duplicated, at
least in my life time As good as they are,
The Five Browns do not even come close, and
are not in the same league. Thank You. |

He bought a few after that, then I started
buying them. Love the discography. I am
using that to expand my vinyl collection.
Never got to see them in concert. Many
regrets. But I am hoping for a DVD of their
earlier concert highlights. Will not miss

| I
was 10 years old in 1969 and became
entranced by the guys' arrangement of the
"Midnight Cowboy" theme. I then
discovered their awesome recording of
"Exodus", and have been a fan ever
since. I always think of Ferrante and
Teicher in the same breath as Peter Nero,
but coming at the music from different
perspectives; Nero playing pretty much just
the melody and letting the orchestra fill
in, while Ferrante and Teicher adding color
and emotion on the keyboards..perhaps I am
simplifying these wonderful artists a bit
too much, but I love BOTH techniques! :- )
It would be nice to see here a detailed
history of the duo..I know pretty much
nothing about how they met and how their
career progressed. The guys have brought
many hours of happiness to my life...and I
know that they are truly missed by their
many, many fans :- ) |

| It's
almost the Christmas season. . and I began
thinking of Christmas music today. What
comes to mind when I think of Christmas
music is Ferrante and Teicher's "We
Wish You A Merry Christmas." Who would
have ever known that a little girl of a mere
4 years old would receive this album as a
Christmas gift from a family friend, and how
it would have been used by God to open my
ears to the beautiful sound of piano music!
I'd walk around and hold the record
"cover" in my hands, and just
listen to the beautiful sound that was
coming from my parents' big stereo. *(you
know--the stereo that was more like a piece
of furniture!) :) Anyway, I don't even know
if I had even seen a piano back then! All I
knew is the sound of those "twin grands"
had me mesmerized! They still do! I'm so
thankful that God blessed these two with
such a wonderful talent, and allowed them to
share it with us! I only wish that more of
"today's generation" could know
and appreciate the beautiful music from
these two Grand Gentlemen! |

| As
a composer and arranger for many years, I
unconsciously patterned most of my music
after the Great Ferrante & Teicher, AND
DIDN'T REALIZE IT! That is, until an
attorney client of mine commented on my
heavy use of chords in an otherwise
symphonic music style. I exclaimed,
"Oh, my god (or goddess)! I copied the
Great Ferrante & Teicher, and didn't
even realize it until just now." What
an honor for me to be even slightly compared
to this immortal duo to whom I have listened
from my teens to this very day. I thank them
soooo much for their great musical influence
and the great enjoyment I have received from

saw F. and T. perform at Baylor Univ. in

remembered the most was one of them getting
up on top of the piano to plunk the
strings... perhaps for a "space"
number? Don't remember the name, just the
visual image!! :-) |

| In
the early 60's I experienced my first
"stereo" music. I was listening to
Ferrante & Teicher, the wonderful
dueling pianos. I was simply awe-struck. I
would sit for hours listening to that album
over and over, with my eyes shut thinking I
was sitting in the front row. Today they are
#2 on my "all-time" favorite list.
Thanks so much for the wonderful music. I
can still shut my eyes and see the falling
leaves. |

| When
I was a young piano student having studied
classical music for 8 yrs, Ferrante/Teicher
recorded the "Theme From Exodus"
that positively blew me away. Their sound
was so different than the Beethoven/Bach I'd
studied. I entered a Kiwanis Club Sponsored
Talent Competition and performed this piece
( tweaking it a bit with my own arrangement
but with a huge emphasis on their signature
scales - glissandos - the whole 9 yards.) I
won that competition and became a lifelong
fan of this remarkable duo. Their
arrangements of Bernstein's West Side Story
still resonates in my musical memory ( I am
a professional performing pianist now - 25
yrs in Chicago) and will perform
"Maria" in my own concert for
November 15, 2010. How I miss this duo, a
HUGE influence on my own professional
career. Thank you for your amazing gifts
that I discovered in 1963. True masters.

was an elementary school student struggling
with piano practice when my parents took me
to an F&T concert. When they broke into
the final portion of Exodus, complete with
mirror ball lighting, I broke into
spontaneous tears of joy. It was the first
time I'd done such a thing. I put much more
time into my practicing after that, and now,
45 years later, I play everywhere from
holiday gigs to the Oregon Zoo, and I love
it. I credit that concert as being the
keystone to my beloved amateur musical
career. |

| One
of my favorite memories of spending time
with my mom was a night, many years ago, in
Orange, Texas, listening to some of the most
beautiful music I have ever heard. My mom
and I had a wonderful time and then spent
hours afterward sitting up late into the
night and talking about your work and the
way it made us feel and the thoughts it
brought to mind. She introduced me to her
love of music and instilled in me an
appreciation of what you two great musicians
give to the world. My mom passed away three
weeks ago. Like a hurricane, you can know
it's coming and try to prepare for it but it
can still be pretty devastating. To help,
I've tried to think back to the good times
and that night in Orange was one of the
best. Thank you, with all my heart, for the
hours of wondrous happiness you two gave to
my mom. You were always two of her favorites
and, to the day she died, she enjoyed your
music. Thank you! |

downloaded my entire F & T album
collection on to an I-Pod, which consists of
837 songs. I plug my I-Pod into my stereo

| I
remember F&T since the early days of
Stereo FM in Brazil (early 70's), good times
when good music was aired all day long with
just NO ads... I used to keep the radio on
in the background while I studied. F&T
were frequently present friends - that's how
they ended up by becoming an important part
of my life, without even suspecting... Now,
40 years later, I've been trying to collect
the good easy-listening music of that time,
and here are F&T back again. And the
nicest thing is that they still evoke me the
same emotions as before. |

shed my hippie duds, and made my way to
Masonic Temple in Detroit to hear these boys
play. Seems like they would usually come in
early to mid spring, if memory serves.
Always ate at Mario's on Second, and would
make my way a few blocks down to the Masonic
Auditorium. Those were always great
evenings, I hadn't thought of them in awhile
until my memory was jogged tonight while
surfing the web. |
